The Horti House is made up of a team of passionate people with a shared mission to transform houseplant wholesale. We have brought together experienced horticulturalists with experts in e-commerce and operations, including the following individuals.

Ed Hill

Ed has been working in the horticulture industry for a relatively short time but has led the move online for Double H as well as running the operations side of the business.  

Previous experience includes high growth start-ups in both fitness tech and hospitality sectors. His background, drive and competitive edge come from his previous professional sailing career and working with high performance teams.

 Brian Redman

Brian brings over 30 years experience in the garden retail sector. Starting from a Saturday job painting the glasshouse roof at his local nursery, Brian went on to become a Plant Buyer for a chain of centres before moving to the supply side.
 
Working with growers and importers he has sourced plants from across Europe and identified opportunities for added value.

Gary Shorland

Gary has been working in ornamental horticulture for over 40 years. A grower and plant enthusiast at heart, Gary has travelled the world developing new ideas and sourcing ground breaking crops and varieties to be grown in the UK. He has been responsible for growing crops, managing nurseries and developing ornamental plants for retail consumers to achieve the real wow factor.

Mark Riley

Mark has been working at Double H for well over 20 years. He brings growing expertise and experience to the operation. Within his time his plants have numerous awards, including 30% of the current orchid crop being awarded RHS AGM’s, as well as previously winning a Chelsea Flower Show Gold medal.

Currently Mark is leading the move towards Peat Free with a particular focus on quality and sustainable practices.
